My name’s Ella and I take pictures.
And it all started with my granddad’s camera.
He would take his Leica everywhere with him. Our house was always filled to the brim with thick leather albums. On rainy days you could find me on the living room rug flicking through the pages upon pages of photos of family escapades.
I caught the camera bug early. I started off photographing my friends in “fashion outfits” in 2004 (yes, it’s as cringy as it sounds), enrolled into London College of Fashion and completed my BA (Hons) in Fashion Photography. That’s when fate stepped in and gifted me a wedding gig & I fell in love.
My style is simple, uncomplicated and classic, with strong colours and saturation. Relaxed poses and genuine interactions are what I’m all about & my preference is to work with natural light, though I am no stranger to working with flash & studio lighting.
As for when I’m not behind the camera? Well, I love lazy nights in with my husband & our fur baby, Bailey, veggie nachos washed down with a (large) glass of Sauvignon Blanc and karaoke nights at the Gladstone with my girlfriends.
As exciting as wedding planning can be, it can also be extremely overwhelming. That’s why I am more than happy to be your go-to with any questions you may have. There’s few people who have been to more weddings than a wedding photographer. And trust me- big, small, we have seen it ALL.
From initial contact to final delivery – I’m never further away than a phone call, providing a service completely tailored to your wants and needs. All packages include complimentary pre and post consultations with plenty of time for any questions, concerns, and bad jokes (I like to think I’m punny).
This one-of-a-kind photography experience usually begins with a luxury engagement photo session, where we will practice simple, romantic posing while exploring one of Toronto’s beautiful locations. This is where I will learn much more about who you are, your photographic preferences as well as what kind of energy you share as a couple; Romantic, shy, casual, or just plain goofy! There’s a million different types of love, and they need to be photographed differently.
On your wedding day, we will be spending more time together than anyone else. You will likely be hanging out with me more than your future spouse! From hair & makeup to the last few moves busted on the dancefloor, I will be documenting every moment as it comes. We usually discuss the timeline of your big day as well as any must have photographs in our pre-wedding consultation. Each digital negative is then carefully edited for cropping, straightening, colour and light consistency by me before being delivered to you.
Two months or so after your wedding, we will get together over a glass of white to review the edited photographs from your big day and you will receive a USB with high resolution photographs.
Did you know that the average lifespan of a USB is only 10 years? For longevity of your photographs, it is extremely important to print physical copies to outlast the advancements in technology.
There’s nothing quite like a custom designed wedding album. I believe every couple deserves to own this beautiful keepsake, that’s why albums are included as standard in most packages. During your post-wedding consultation, we will go through your design options as well favourite photographs to include. Each album is printed onto the highest quality photo paper and hand bound by a professional photo lab right here in Canada. You will be amazed at how much better your photos look when printed and, I can guarantee, this album will be one of your most prized possessions for many years to come.
